Day two of X-Air

We went downtown today for the second day of X-Air.

We had a good time yesterday but we were pretty tired when we got home from all the walking and the sun. There were events at six different sites and we were walking between them. The events included skateboarding, inline skating and biking on a street course and a half pipe, breakdancing, live bands, cannonball and bellyflops into the lagoon, a bikini contest, motorbiking, and lots more. There were tons of people downtown...last year 100,000 people showed up and I would guess that there were about that many this year.

Day two was a bit windier and cooler. We decided to stay in one place this time and got a great seat by the edge of the lagoon. Unfortunately the cameras batteries ran out so no pictures. They had a tower set up that people were jumping off. Lots of fun to watch. People were watching the event from a bridge behind the tower across a footpath. A crazy dude decided to jump off the bridge into the water. The bridge is about 5 meters taller than the tower and he had to jump over the footpath to get to the water. Luckily he did so no one got hurt.

Pretty darn close...actually this year it was 120,000 so we must have imported some people from Aussie.
