They are...even first thing in the morning before the sun comes up. I associate cicada buzzing with mid-day on hot summer's days.
We got a Nikkon...not sure the model. I agree it does a pretty good job. Especially on the macro pics. My hands are a bit too shaky though. Talie takes the best pics.
