No Moa

I took today and Monday off from work so that I would have a nice long weekend....five days in fact because Tuesday is a holiday because of Anzac Day (NZ Rememberance Day). Julia and Ethan are off school right now because they are between terms.

On our first shared day off, I took Julia and Ethan to see a play. We took their scooters on the train so they could scooter downtown to the theatre. We took a roundabout way to get there because I didn't know where the theatre was and we actually went to another theatre first. We got to the correct theatre just in time to see No Moa.

It was a great play and we had fun. It was just under one hour long. There were three actors who played two characters each. We participated by being hills, rivers, trees, lions, alligators, and gorillas, by helping the main character find her father and keeping her from being eaten by wild animals while she slept by screaming if we saw one.

Ethan laughed a lot and seemed to really enjoy the physical and sometimes slightly crude comedy. His giggles turned to a belly laugh when Sam, the main character, accused her father of FARTING in the tent.

Julia liked the happy ending to the story when Sam freed the Moa who had been captured by the evil zookeeper who liked to keep his animals in the smallest cages possible to allow the public a good view from all sides.

All in all a good trip.

No moa to say!
