Fish n' Chips at Kindy

Tonight we had BYO Fish n' Chips at E's Kindy. I find the idea of Bring Your Own is a bit weird but we went to Tan's Take-Away and got some chicken and chips (french fries) for us to eat. We arrived early so there weren't many people there. I got a seat with a friend and his son who is in E's class. Not really sure what we are supposed to do, we didn't stay long. I had an okay time though cuz we stayed long enough to have some nice chats with parents of the kids in the kindy. One family is buying an acreage and going to transform it into a vineyard. Super exciting!

As usual E could not stay still long enough for a picture so we got the boy on the right as a stand in.

We then walked Talie to the train. She is going downtown to meet a fellow Canadian who worked with my father-in-law. When we arrived at the station there were a couple of punk-looking kids acting out what I presumed to be a recent brawl they had. One was a bulky kid with oversized shoes, oversized clothes and greasy brown messy hair. The other was a slim kid with a basketball jersey and a backwards cap. The backwards cap kid kept starring at us. The train came shortly, we said goodbye to Talie and we left. I noticed that luckily these punks were not getting on this train so were going the other direction towards Johnsonville on the train that would arrive in about five minutes.

We walked down the path and were about 20 metres down the road when we saw the backwards cap kid running towards us with something swinging menancingly from his right hand. I thought, "Oh great...whats going to happen?!?" When he got close he pointed the weapon at me...well actually he was handing it to me...and it wasn't a weapon. It was one of E's art projects that E had taken out from under the pram to play with at the station. This "punk" kid had just run from the train station, risking missing his train, to bring us a hunk of wood nailed together to another hunk of wood. "Thanks", I said. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!
