Our things..

A few weeks ago, we were in touch with our moving company, BOYD, whom I'll never recommend to another person. We were told to get in touch with a company in Auckland regarding the arrival of our things. Well, our arrival date, October 2nd, has come and gone, and we've heard nothing from either end of the world regarding our things. On Monday, B called the Auckland based company and asked when we should expect our things and they said something to the effect of, "we don't have you on our roster..we aren't expecting your things". To this B followed up with the Ottawa people who replied this morning that there has been a huge mix up with our things. Our furniture etc. were put into the wrong type of shipping container and the shipping company would not take our things until repacked into the proper container. That said, our things left Montreal on September 24th and are now expected to arrive on November 20th. THIS SUCKS!!! We should have been informed of this delay three weeks ago when we contacted Boyd. The person in the email, however, did say something about looking into some serious compensation for our troubles. That would at least ease our tempers a little. The children are so dissappointed because we've been telling them that their toys and scooters and beds are arriving in a couple of weeks when as it turns out, they have another month and a half of waiting to do.

Truly disappointed and missing home slightly more today.. N
