While driving home from picking me up at a meeting, the family and I observed the first snowfall in Ottawa which accumulated on the ground (rather than immediately melt away). Snow turns the world into a winter wonderland. The kids went outside as soon as we got home, had to be pulled in for supper, spent the absolute minimum time eating, and then ran outside again to spend the rest of the evening building 10 centimetre tall snowmen and throwing micro-snowballs at the fence and house. The joys of living in a city where the temperature drops below zero...at regular intervals...for months and months and months at a time.
