Super duper Ex

Tuesday was Kids Day at the Ottawa Super Ex, so after work we went with the family to enjoy the fun. The kids got in free, but Talie and I had to pay $10 each for us. We had some sausages for dinner. We got to get in a Armoured personnel Carrier set up by the military.

We watched a reptile show and got to hold a huge python, a bunch of corn snakes and a garter snake. Pretty amazing that Talie, who was terrified of pictures of snakes only a few years ago, held a 6 foot python around her neck.

We watched a great BMX/skateboard/rollerblade show by an Ottawa based group. The BMXers did some pretty amazing flips.

We got a horse drawn wagon ride, pet/fed a bunch of animals (sheep, llama, goat, miniature horses and a huge horse), saw some exotic animals (armadillo, lemurs, camel) and saw some other farm animals (cows, turkeys, chicken and doves).

We took lots of pictures...unfortunately the card in our camera is busted and I think those pics are lost. : (

The best part of the day came in the evening when we saw a circus show. The first event was a couple who climbed a couple of forty foot poles into the air and did crazy stunts on the top. The finale to that event was they switched poles in mid air. Very impressive. Following that was a trapeze artist...she was ok...not nearly as cool as the preceding event. The next thing was cool too. It was a huge spinnie thing with a circular cagey thing at one end and it spun around while two people did tricks in/on it. Very exciting!!

The evening ended with some belly dancing! We watched as some various sized women shook they bellies to some pretty groovy music. Great fun.

Most of the day was free but somehow we still ended up spending $70...plus I lost $20 out of my pocket : (
