NZ to CND
After 36 hours of travel we arrived in Ottawa...exhausted but happy to be home. It was quite the adventure...especially with the insane security in response to the increased terror threat. We got searched and patted down for liquids in Sydney (twice)...we had to go through customs and immigration during our two hour layover in Honolulu...we went through x-ray machines at every stop...crazy. But we arrived, safe and sound...though not sound of mind. Jet lag is no fun!
Sydney airport, after we found out our plane was delayed for two hours. We had way too much carry on luggage...that carseat got really really heavy on the 15 minute walk between terminals.
We took sleep when we could get it. Ethan was the penultimate sleeper on the flight to Honolulu...quite the effort to keep him quiet and still while the other passengers slept. I got a little shut eye.
Disregarding the silly security issues, landing in Hawaii was kinda neat. The women all wore flowers, there was a guy outside giving out lays...uhhh...I mean leis, and there was hula music playing over the loudspeakers. The heat/humidity was intense...especially with the pressure of trying to get a family of five through tight security, which included removing all our shoes.
Almost home...this is the view we had from the window between Vancouver and Ottawa of the Rockies....pretty awesome!
